All international airlines fly into Dublin Airport while Waterford Airport is serviced by a twice daily direct route from London Luton with Aer Arann. Aer Arann also operates a direct service to Waterford Airport from Manchester every Monday, Friday and Sunday and from Lorient in France every Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday.
Ferry
Irish Ferries serve the Continent of Europe from Roscoff or Cherbourg in France to Rosslare using state-of-the-art cruise ferries. They also serve Dublin City Port from Holyhead in Britain and Rosslare from Pembroke in Wales. StenaLine operates on the Rosslare - Fishguard, Dublin City Port - Holyhead, Belfast - Stranraer, Larne - Fleetwood and Dun Laoghaire - Holyhead routes.Carlow is well served in terms of public transport.
Rail
On the Dublin - Waterford route seven services operate on a daily basis Monday - Friday, six services on Saturdays and four services on Sundays stopping at Carlow Town. Some of these routes also serve Bagenalstown, Kildare, Athy, Kilkenny and Thomastown.
Bus
Bus Eireann operate 9 services to Waterford and Dublin from Carlow (Barrack Street), IT Carlow, Leighlinbridge Cross and Royal Oak Cross.Rapid Express Travel serves Dublin City 12 times per day from Carlow Town and Royal Oak Cross. All of these services travel onwards to Dublin Airport. The company also provides an inter-county service between Carlow, Tullow, Rathvilly, Baltinglass and Hacketstown as well as a Carlow to Portlaoise via Athy and Carlow - Kilkenny twice daily.
