Aqua Aerobics

Aqua Classes involve performing different aerobic exercises in the pool following the instructors lead and direction. The water cushions the joints, reducing impact and stress on the muscles, tendons and ligaments and you don’t need to be able swim making it suitable for individuals of any age, gender and level of fitness.
 
Classes Start off with a warm-up where participants perform light exercises to prepare the muscles for the main phase. The main body of the class sees the instructor using aerobic exercises and later introducing floats to add resistance to the workout providing a strength and toning phase to the workout. The instructor will then cooldown and stretch the class at the end. The exercises performed will develop cardio-respiratory fitness, strengthen the leg and hip muscles and give the upper body a great workout while the water keeps you cool and refreshed throughout the workout.

Circuit training

 

Circuit training is an efficient and challenging form of conditioning that provides a cross training effect between the aerobic and muscular components of fitness thus giving you all the benefits of both a cardiovascular and strength training workout.

Circuit classes typically consist of 10-12 stations placed consecutively around the studio. Each station has a different exercise to be performed, exercises work and tone the whole body and range from aerobic moves like jogging, anaerobic moves like star jumps and muscular endurance moves such as push ups. Variety leaves little room for boredom and its versatility makes it popular with both men and women.

At the start of the class instructors will demonstrate all the exercises . They will also provide adaptation and progression options to cater for all levels of fitness. After initial demonstrations the instructor provides motivation helping participants and cheering them on.

Pilates

 
Pilates emphasizes slow, controlled movements, rhythmic breathing and concentration to unite the body and mind. Exercises strengthen core muscles in the abs, buttocks and lower back to correct spinal and pelvic alignment and providing the body with stronger more resilient muscles.
The slow smooth movements transform the way your body looks, feels and performs, strengthening and toning the long lean muscles of the body and challenging your deep abdominal muscles to support the core.

Spinning

Spinning is a type of high intensity exercise tha involves using a stationary exercise bicycle in a classroom setting. The unbeatable group energy and motivating environment pushes you through cycles you never would have imagined making this intense class great fun.

Instructors lead you through hill rides, terrains and sprints using motivational music to engage your mind in the activity. The weighted flywheel on the bikes give the effects you’d encounter while riding a real bike. The resistance is controlled by a wheel that the cyclist operates causing the flywheel to tighten or loosen making pedalling more difficult or easier respectively.

Instructors will call out directions to participants indicating when to make the cycling easier, when to go up hills and to bring in arm work etc

Step Aerobics

Step Aerobics involves aerobic style movements performed on an adjustable platform. Steps can be adjusted to 3 different heights depending on the desired intensity you wish to work at.

Step provides participants with an effective aerobic workout combined with local muscular endurance work for the legs. Our instructors will have your arms working at the same time as your legs, increasing the calories burned during your workout. Arms movements tone the arms, back, chest and shoulders. Combine this with the ten minute ab blast at the end and you’ve just completed a full body workout in a motivating and enjoyable atmosphere.

Instructors execute various moves together to form the choreography of the class and guide participants through the moves by performing and participating from the top of the class and bringing you through low impact to dynamic high movements to increase the aerobic intensity and keep your pulse in the training heart rate zone
