Rules of Civil Ceremonies
It is now possible for Civil Marriages to be held at venues other than Registry Offices or Churches. This is subject to a number of conditions being met and approval by the HSE in advance of the marriage ceremony.
If you are getting married by Civil Ceremony you must approach the Registrar of Civil Marriages for the district in which you intend to marry for information on how to proceed. There is no requirement to live in the district where you wish to get married. There is a requirement to give 3 months notification to a registrar however it is advisable to apply far in advance as possible to guarantee requested dates.
